Shock

How can Anna Nicole Smith be dead?? I'm so not prepared for this. I'm going to go lie down.

You haven't posted in an age! I need some commentary on Britney's shaved head, more maligning of the legal world, and maybe some Oscar favorites. I'm guessing you're pretty busy since it's tax season and all. I'm (still) doing contract work in DC and am applying to a couple jobs a day (usu. jobs that require 2, 3, or 5 years experience, which I of course don't have) but haven't had much except an interview w/ one firm that won't know if they're really hiring for a couple months. WTF? Anyway, hope all's well with you.

So, guess what feithline? I might be joining the tax world with you! I have an offer to move to a new city and learn the tax code and not have the title of lawyer...isn't that exciting?? haha. Feels good to at least have an offer on the table though.

jen - In re: Britney, I don't have internet access at work, and, thus cut off from everything I know and love, I am therefore a bit behind on my celebrity gossip.

My thought is this: think back to that Madonna/Britney kiss where it was supposed to be all like oh she's passing the pop princess torch or whatever. Clearly now though, with Anna Nicole sadly out of the picture, the world is desperately in need of a new Trailer Park Queen. Ms. Britney, as we may recall from the pictures of her emerging BAREFOOT from the GAS STATION bathroom, the child protection thing, being from the deep south, etc., has the proper credentials. So clearly, the hair thing was her coronation.

K - you're not going to be selling your soul to the government like I did, are you?

I agree that it's always nice to get an offer, regardless of what the job is. I've got some news along those lines but I'm saving it till tomorrow. It's past my pathetic bedtime.

No, my offer wasn't with the government. Although I would love it if it was! At this point, I think government is the way to go--great benefits and lifetime job security, and after a while, pretty decent pay--okay, very good pay considering the 9 to 5 hours. I am not going to take the job as it would mean moving to a new city for a non-attorney position which just seems stupid at this point. I could easily stay here and get some other non-attorney job.
